Help Us Improve!

(see post below for where this subject starts)

Next to the blogging control screen inside blogger, they have a little section saying this:

Help us improve! Tell us what you think about Blogger and take the survey.

Commit collective suicide, maybe?

What Gives?

You know, I tried posting my previous long post on Sunday, but I kept getting an error. Then I did a test post with one line and it got posted. So I started posting a paragraph at a time and after I added a few paragraphs to the first posting attempt, blogger gave an error again. This is their new blogger software version, a new and rotten version apparently.

Maybe they've instituted some kind of word limit now? We have to go waste time figuring this out now? People! We have better things to do with our time...

Is blogger a Microsoft product? ;-)

It's google, isn't it? Well, it's the new Microsoft then, same crap, different name.

Greetings (cont) (cont.)

(beginning of this text is two posts below!)

I have discovered YouTube. Yes, 50 years later than everyone else, evidently ;-) When I first heard about it, I thought it was just a bunch of morons posting their own home videos and why would I want to look at that? Well, it is a bunch of morons
posting themselves up, but... we have real performers as well! So I have delighted myself in looking at old clips from Edith Piaf, Tom Jones, Aretha Franklin, and Chris Rock, among others. "It's not UN-U-SU-AL to be loved by anyone... tarararahhhhhh"

You know, I used to think Tom Jones was so corny, but now with pigs of people controlling the entertainment business and the sexuality/sexiness discourse and praxis in our society, I think he is quite refreshing. He doesn't degrade, vulgarize, demean, deprave, degenerate. So refreshing.

I now have a multi-gadget cellphone thingy that does almost everything but microwave food ;-) I am quite hooked on it. An unexpected interesting discovery related to having such a phone is that I found out I do not like to watch TV while going
about my errands. And the opposite goes for music. Sometimes I have to tell myself a hundred times to just hum because I am ready to burst out in a duet with whoever I am listening to.

I also had an idea for a real big project, but I am stuck at a certain point, like my mind is frozen, and all the other million things keep my mind space too cluttered for me to sit down and dream about this project. But, it's there, it's urgent, and
hopefully I will get around to it later this year.

So, this is a little update on this quiet Sunday.

Talk to you all later.

Greetings (cont.)

(beginning of this text is the post below!)

It has also been really cool to see that I have jumped up a grade in my teaching skills and abilities and today I can do things as a teacher that were impossible for me a few years back.

I also continue on my way to become professionally trilingual and that is useful and might I say, cool. When I get old, I will take Latin lessons, because I doubt I will have room for it earlier. Last week I went hiking and there was an 80 year old lady who walked as fast as I did. Perhaps that is not saying much about her performance! ;-) But I immediately thought when I saw her: I want to be just like that.

I had a brilliant idea about writing a book that wouldn't take too much work and it could still be quite useful for the target population of readers, but it seems I will not get the necessary approval for it for quite awhile. You know, then I could have my first book published without killing myself working at it, but somebody upstairs would have to give the green light, and probably that would take time from other things that somebody upstairs regards as more profitable in a variety of ways, so... Anyways, I have a meeting on the subject coming up and we will see, but it looks like my publishing debut will have to wait a little or a long, long time.

People need to invent a type of snow that does not melt when the temperature goes up :-) Yours truly likes winter sports, but not the cold. I have a ton of plans for next winter for sports and it would be nice if the temperature were around 70 F or 20 C.

I also had a cool idea for a recipe book, but I am short on the specific type of recipes :-) Can't we publish a cooking book with five recipes? That would work out very well regarding my immense chest of fabulous stored-away recipes!

Greetings

Hello, how are you all? I have been too caught up with a million non-virtual things that are urgent, late or almost late, and top, top, top priority. That does not leave any time to blog. Actually, I've had time, it wasn't the time aspect that was at the root. The slow speed of writing started to bother me. And the lack of face-to-face contact with my nice readers as well. I like to see people and you are all hiding!! ;-) However, I hope to resume a little of my (mostly informal) blogging this semester.

What's new?

Many, many quite interesting things. I have been seeing a ton of movies! And I hope to make a few comments here and there in my blog (specially with the ones I am furious about, because they are so disgusting and detrimental to the human
spirit and mind, but also the ones that make me think).

I have discovered a new career totally by accident! It just so happens that I have senior qualifications to do a certain job and I had never realized it. And it pays nicely and, depending on the situation, it has very little or no stress. Can you imagine that, a job with little or no stress?? I've never experienced that before. Well, if you work in certain situations anyways. So, I have started procedures to take off as a freelancer, although that might take quite awhile (building a client base, etc.), if I achieve it at all.

I'm also teaching and another wonderful new discovery came my way this year regarding this activity. I am teaching to a certain group of people that I had never had much contact with, specially as students, and they are great (with the usual exceptions along the lines of pigs with the appearances of women that I blog about here). And it's been the most enjoyable teaching experience I've ever had.
