The Sexual Revolution Brothel

Dorm Brothel -
The new debauchery, and the colleges that let it happen.
By Vigen Guroian

One more good article about how oppressive and destructive the relationships and behaviors between men and women in college have become.

"The so-called sexual revolution is not, as advertised, a liberation of sexual behavior but rather its reversal. In former days, even under Victoria, sexual intercourse was the natural end and culmination of heterosexual relations. Now one begins with genital overtures instead of a handshake, then waits to see what will turn up (e.g., might become friends later). Like dogs greeting each other nose to tail and tail to nose."

Walker Percy, The Last Gentleman (1966)

Amazing that this was written in 1966! Two things that are missing from the article that are particular important, although they are part of a larger picture. The attitude and values problems he points to are far from being restricted to college age kids. You see a lot of older men and women with the same trashy attitudes. Although he correctly targets how irresponsible universities are to fuel this culture, he does not mention the larger entertainment culture, which is pounding the heads of these kids day in and day out with this conditioning. If that is not addressed as well, little good it will do to change some rules at colleges only. Many problems he points out are happening in highschool or earlier, and continue to include many older adults.
