Microsoft Wants to Take Google On - Go For It!

Microsoft will introduce a search engine better than Google in six months in the United States and Britain followed by Europe, its European president said on Wednesday.

"The quality of our search and the relevance of our search from a solution perspective to the consumer will be more relevant," he told the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit.

But being good is not enough to win the hearts and minds of consumers already dedicated to another standard.

Go for it. Since I hate Google, because although I can't prove it, I've seen examples where it certainly looks like they are tampering with the search results based on political/ideological content. My blog is one of these examples. And I hate their political positions, specially not wanting to collaborate regarding child pornography issues. Hopefully, Microsoft is not planning on such a corrupt search engine philosophy, but then again, Gates is no angel, nothing would surprise me regarding him either.

I used to like Google searching a lot, now I try to start directly with Yahoo and only go for Google if I don't like the results.

For those and other reasons, it would be so nice to see Google demolished, and if not demolished, at least take some pounding. It would be much better if it were by a smaller company, but now perhaps only Microsoft has the power to do it.

Comments:
Help me out here. What politics are you concerned about? I don't understand.
